RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern opened its Saturday double-header with a 4-3 loss in eight innings to Arkansas Tech and was unable to bounce back in the nightcap, falling 5-0 in the series finale on Saturday afternoon in Russellville, Ark.

The losses dip the Savage Storm to 12-8 overall on the season and 4-4 in Great American Conference play.

Kady Fryrear, Gracie Ore, and Ivy Amador each collected a pair of hits in game one, while Symphoni Shomo, Katie McCullar, and Karsyn Brigance each added one.

Fryrear and McCullar accounted for an RBI each.

Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and tossed 6.0 innings in a no decision, allowing three runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

McCullar came on in the seventh and would record 1.1 innings of work and take the loss after allowing a run on a hit.

Aamdor put SE on the board with a single that allowed Ore to come around and score as it was misplayed in left field, taking a 1-0 lead.

An RI double by Fryrear in the third would move the lead to 2-0.

ATU would answer with a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead.

An RBI single by McCullar in the top of the seventh would knot the game at 3-3 and send it to extra innings.

However, ATU would pick up a run in the bottom of the eighth to swipe the game 4-3.

The finale was basically decided on two swings of the bat as the Golden Suns took the lead with a second inning three-run homer before stretching that to 5-0 in the sixth on a two-run single.

Kyia Monahwee and Kennedy Salyers each collected a hit in the game.

Ashley Hedrick got the start and took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits in 5.0 innings pitched before McCullar came on to toss an inning and was tagged for a run on two hits.
