SEARCY, Ark. – Southeastern collected eight hits but had a hard time bringing home runs as it dropped its series opener against Harding, 7-2, on Friday night in Searcy, Ark.
The loss dropped the Savage Storm to 10-10 overall and 3-7 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series slated for a Saturday double-header beginning at 1 p.m.
Slayde Ortiz,
Joseph Ramirez, and Dylen Herd each turned in a pair of hits, while
Davis Jenks and
Anthony Cassos each added one.
Ramirez and
Grant Bruce each drove in a run.
Jacob Potter got the start and tossed 6.0 innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on eight hits with six strikeouts, taking the loss.
Beau Swimmer record one-third of an inning and was tagged for a run on a hit before handing off to
Spencer Wallace who threw an inning while allowing two runs on three hits.
Jacob Bigham would finish the game, recording two-thirds of an inning without allowing a run or a hit while striking out one.
Ramirez would plate the first Storm run with an RBI in the top of the second to open up a 1-0 lead.
HU answered with a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to swipe the lead.
SE would answer and tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth when Bruce drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in Cassos.
However, the Bisons would get five runs over the final three innings to take game one 7-2.
