Volleyball Returns Home to Host SWOSU, OBU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball returns home for a three-match home stand beginning with a Nov. 2 matchup with Southwestern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium followed on Nov. 4 with a contest against Oklahoma Baptist at 7 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm come into the week with a 7-15 record overall and a 4-8 mark in Great American Conference play and are looking to snap a six-match losing streak while fighting for a spot in the GAC Tournament.
 
SE is currently in a three-way tie for seventh place with the top eight teams at the end of the regular season earning a berth in the postseason tournament.
 
Skylor Lewis and Caroline Griffith lead the offense, with Lewis ranking in the top-10 in the GAC in kills with 2.89 kps, while Griffith is adding 2.22 per set. Four others are averaging 1.3 kps or better on the year.
 
Ruthie Forson is one of those while also dishing out 8.55 assists per set which ranks fifth in the conference. She is also picking up 2.58 digs per set on defense and has added 20 total blocks.
 
Grace Shehadeh leads the Storm back row defense with 5.13 digs per set, while Mya Afflerbach leads the way at the net with 45 blocks while Griffith has 42.
 
SWOSU comes into Tuesday's contest with a 16-6 record on the season and a 10-2 mark in league play, led offensively by Lacy Mott's 2.68 kills per set while Allie Hoang is dishing out 9.55 assists per set.
 
The Bulldogs defense is led by Sophia DeSantiago on the back row with 3.64 digs per set while Markenzie Benoit has collected 77 blocks.
 
OBU enters the week with a 17-3 record on the year and a 10-2 GAC mark with Malia Leatherland leading the offense with 3.18 kills per set while Kaylee Buell is handing out 9.77 assists per set.
 
The Bison defense is paced by Diana Carranza's 4.30 dis per set while Audrey Poupard has added 78 blocks on the year.
