DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's offense cooled in the fourth quarter and was unable to hold off a late charging Texas Woman's in a 55-54 overtime loss on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 1-3 to open the year heading into a third-straight home matchup on Nov. 23 versus No. 10 Texas A&M-Commerce back in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Kamryn Cantwell led SE with 13 points on the day, while
Briley Moon was right behind with 12.

Caitlin Kobiske added eight off the bench, while
Lauren Beason finished with six.

After shooting 50.0 percent from the floor in the third quarter, the Storm would fire at a 3-for-13 clip in the fourth and was 0-for-5 in the overtime session which turned into a 3-2 slugfest, with a TWU three-point play offsetting a pair of
Chandler Kemp free throws.

Kemp would dish out a team-high four assists while Cantwell added three.

Southeastern held a 44-to-41 edge on the glass with Cantwell and Kobiske hauling in seven board each, while Moon and
Jordan Benson pulled down six apiece.

Moon would connect on her first two threes of the game right out of the gate and stake the Storm to a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter.

SE would extend that early edge to 10-2 on a Beason Layup off a Cantwell dish to hit the high lead of the first half.

A 6-0 run by TWU would close that gap to 10-8 by the 3:39 mark of the first quarter, but that was as close as it would get in the first quarter as the Storm would take a 16-12 lead to the first quarter break.

Early in the second quarter a Pioneer three would close the Storm advantage to 18-17, but Cantwell would answer with a layup on the next possession to retain the lead.

With 3:20 to play TWU would again cut the difference to just two points, but Southeastern would respond with the final six points of the half to take a 28-20 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The Storm lead hit 10 points twice in the early going of the third quarter, but a 9-0 run midway through the frame would erase the SE advantage and give the Pioneers their first lead since the first quarter at 37-36 with 4:09 to play in the third.

It was a short-lived lead as Cantwell would put the Storm back in front 13 seconds later with a bucket and the SE would end up taking a 44-39 lead into the fourth quarter.

Southeastern held TWU at arm's length until the 6:00 mark when a pair of free throws would tie the game at 47-47.

SE would answer and the teams traded bucket with a Pioneer three giving them a one-point lead with 2:58 remaining but a
Grace Alverson three on the ensuing possession would put SE in front 52-50 with 2:34 to play.

The Pioneers would tie the game with 1:26 remaining in regulation and neither team was able to snap the tie before heading to OT.

Once there, Kemp would give the Storm a 54-52 lead with 3:40 to play on a pair of free throws.

The SE defense would shut out TWU for the entire session until a foul sent Ashley Ingram to the line with 24 seconds left following a made layup, and her free throw would provide the difference in a 55-54 final score.
