DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern found buckets hard to come by in its final matchup before Thanksgiving, falling to No. 7 Texas A&M-Commerce 71-44 on Tuesday evening in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Savage Storm drop to 1-4 with the loss and will next look to shake off back-to-back losses when it travels to Edmond, Okla., for a 2 p.m. matchup with Oklahoma Christian on Nov. 27.

On Tuesday,
Chandler Kemp turned in eight points and
Grace Alverson added eight of her own off the bench to lead SE in scoring.

Caitlin Kobiske followed with six points, while
Kamryn Cantwell,
Aimee Alverson, and
Kentoya Woods had five each.

The Storm shot 30.9 percent from the field for the game and hit 29.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Briley Moon dished out a team-high six assists and Cantwell added three.

The duo also led the way in steals for SE with Cantwell snagging three and Moon two.

Moon also led all players on the board with 12 rebounds, while Kobiske was next in line for SE with five.

The Storm got off to a cold start but was able to keep the contest close as the first quarter finished with the Lions leading 11-6.

Despite falling behind by 10 points early in the second, SE would reel off a 10-0 run capped by an
Annie Anderle three to knot the game at 16-16 at the 5:39 mark.

The Storm would tie the game again at 20-20 on a Woods jumper, but were unable to take a lead and TAMUC would pull out to a 28-23 lead at the halftime break.

The deficit remained at five points with 2:04 to play in the third quarter, but a 6-0 run to finish the frame would give the visitors a 45-34 lead heading to the fourth.

SE would close the gap to nine points early in the fourth but that was as close as it would get as TAMUC held a 26-10 edge over the final 10 minutes to fashion the 71-44 final score.
