EDMOND, Okla. – Southeastern got back in the win column in a big way, putting three players in double-figures and shooting 53.0 percent from the field as a team on the way to an 87-69 road victory over Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon in Edmond, Okla.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 2-4 overall on the year heading into the Great American Conference schedule which begins Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m. versus Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Okla.

Briley Moon led all scorers in the contest with 22 points, hitting four threes, while also dishing out a game-high seven assists.

Kamryn Cantwell came on strong as the game progressed, finishing with 19 while handing out four assists and going 6-of-6 at the line.

Jordan Benson turned in her first double-digit outing of the season, finishing with 13 on a 5-of-9 shooting effort.

Grace Alverson was next in line with seven points and
Chandler Kemp finished with six., as did
Aimee Alverson.

SE finished the contest with 22 assists as a team, with Kemp adding four, while
Grace Alverson and
Haiden Williams each dished out three.

Moon also pulled down a team-best four rebounds as the Storm were outrebounded 40-to-21.

That difference was offset by the turnover differential where SE finished with nine turnovers across from 26 Eagles miscues, 11 of which went for Storm steals.

A moon three kicked off scoring in the contest and she would go on to score eight of the first 11 points as the Storm jumped out to an 11-8 lead.

OC would bounce back and take a lead at 14-11 before a
Casey Monk three tied the contest at 14-14 with 4:04 to play in the first quarter.

The teams would trade the advantage until the Eagles led 17-16 which when SE answered with a 6-0 run capped by a Benson layup to take a 22-17 lead before settling on a 22-20 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Both sides came out firing in the second quarter, converting buckets on each of their first two possessions, with OC closing the gap to 26-25 after that flurry.

The teams would trade the lead before the Eagles reeled off a 10-0 run to take a 38-30 lead with 3:25 remaining in the half.

A Cantwell layup would kick off the Storm answer and a Benson jumper would cap that 8-0 run to knot the score at 38-38 at halftime.

The teams again traded buckets out of the gate, but SE would break a 42-42 tie with an 8-0 run capped by a Cantwell layup with 6:04 to play in the third, taking a 50-42 lead.

The Storm would continue to push, leading by as many as 14 before taking a 62-51 lead on a Kemp bucket at the buzzer to end the third quarter.

A Benson three would pick up where SE left off and another Benson bucket followed by a Williams three would extend the Storm advantage to 70-51 by the 8:02 mark of the fourth quarter.

A pair of Cantwell free throws would push the lead past 20 points, and she would later connect on a three with 4:07 to go to give SE its largest lead at 83-59.

OC would finish the contest with 10 of the final 14 points, but the Storm would leave Edmond, Okla., with the 87-69 victory.
