DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern saw its seven-game winning streak come to an end on Monday afternoon in a 9-1 loss to No. 18 Texas A&M-Kingsville at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 10-2 overall on the season as the team will jump back into Great American Conference play March 19-20 with a three-game series against Arkansas-Monticello.

Peyton Streetman collected a pair of hits to lead the Storm on offense, while
Cheyenne Mahy added a hit and an RBI.

Kady Fryrear,
Kamarie Wallace, and
Karissa Marshall each finished with a hit.

Mahy got the start and was saddled with her first loss of the season after allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits without recording an out.
Â
Amberlyn Wallace would come on in relief and allow three runs on six hits with four strikeouts over 4.0 innings.

Ashley Hedrick would finish the contest with an inning of work, allowing two runs on three hits.

TAMUK took advantage of four soft hits in the first inning and plated four runs to open the game.

A two-run homer in the top of the second and one more run in the third would put the Javelinas in front 7-0 midway through the third inning.

A Mahy RBI single would score Fryrear in the bottom of the third to put the Storm on the board down 7-1.

SE would leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth and pay for it as TAMUK tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth to take a 9-1 lead.

The Storm would go in order in the bottom half of the fifth to end the game.
