DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern pitcher's
Cheyenne Mahy and
Amberlyn Walsworth combined to allow one unearned run over both ends of their Saturday doubleheader, finishing off a series sweep of Arkansas-Monticello with a 4-0 win in game one and a 4-1 win in the finale at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The wins lift the Savage Storm to 13-2 overall on the season and 9-1 in Great American Conference play.

I game one, Mahy tossed the complete game to improve her season record to 4-1 after scattering six hits and striking out two while not allowing a run.

At the plate,
Kady Fryrear and
Kamarie Wallace each collected a pair of hits, while
Augusta Duty, Mahy, and
Kyia Monahwee would each drive in a run.
Â
SE got on the board in the bottom of the first when Mahy scored stealing home on a double steal with Monahwee taking second on the play.

Mahy would plate a run in the bottom of the third on an RBI groundout and a batter later Monahwee would plate
Peyton Streetman on a bunt single to stretch the lead to 3-0.

Duty would tack on the final run in the bottom of the fifth on a squeeze bunt with
Bailey Beard beating the throw to the plate for a 4-0 lead which would hold to be the final.

In the finale, it was Walsworth's turn again to face the Cotton Blossom lineup after earning the win in the opener on Friday.

She answered the call, scattering three hits and one unearned run over a complete 7.0 inning performance with six strikeouts, lifting her season record to 7-0 on the season.

At the plate, SE got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, first with Fryrear scoring from second following a UAM error and then tacking on a second unearned run on a
Kamarie Wallace RBI single to score Monahwee for a 2-0 lead.

UAM would pick up its first run of the series in the top of the fourth, converting a steal of third into a run following a throwing error. The run clipped the lead to 2-1 and broke up a streak of 17 and two-thirds innings without allowing a run.

The Storm found an answer in the bottom half of the inning though as Wallace connected on a solo homer to left centerfield to push the edge back to 3-1.

Southeastern would add an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth, taking advantage of back-to-back UAM errors to allow Wallace to score and stretch the lead to 4-1 which would hold up as the final.
