BOLIVAR, Mo. – Southeastern collected 23 hits over two games, homering five times, on its way to a doubleheader sweep of Southwest Baptist on Wednesday afternoon in Bolivar, Mo.

The sweep pushes the Savage Storm winning streak to seven-straight and lifts the overall record to 17-2 on the season heading into a three-game road series March 26-27 against No. 9 Southern Arkansas in Magnolia, Ark.

In game one,
Kady Fryrear,
Kyia Monahwee, and
Bailey Beard each collected a pair of hits, while
Brooklyn Field,
Cheyenne Mahy,
Kamarie Wallace,
Peyton Streetman, and
Alexis Lambert each added one.

Fryrear's two hits each went for homers, while Monahwee added a home run as well.
Â
Fryrear finished the game with three RBI, with Monahwee and Field chipping in two each, while Durst drove in one.

Ashley Hedrick got the start but was tagged for four runs on four hits while striking out one in a no decision.
Â
Amberlyn Walsworth would come on to toss the final 5.0 innings and pick up the win after allowing a run on four hits with seven strikeouts.

A two-run SBU homer would put the Bearcats out in front in the first inning, but the Storm found an answer in the top of the second, first on a Durst RBI groundout before Fryrear connected on a two-run homer to take a 3-2 lead.

SBU answered with back-to-back RBI doubles in the bottom half of the inning to regain the lead at 4-3.

A second Fryrear homer, this one in the top of the fourth would tie the game at 4-4, and three batters later Monahwee would collect her second homer of the season, this one a two-run shot to left to take a 6-4 lead.

Field would tack on two more runs in the top of the fifth with a double to plate Fryrear and
Bailey Beard, taking an 8-4 lead.

SBU would lead off the bottom of the fifth with a solo homer to close the Storm edge to 8-5 which would hold to be the final score.

In game two, Monahwee led the way with a three-hit performance in the leadoff spot, while
Peyton Streetman and
Lauren White each added a pair of hits.

Mahy, Wallace,
Karissa Marshall, Beard, and Ore each added a hit, with Mahy and Marshall homering.

Streetman and Mahy each had two RBI, while Monahwee, Marshall, and White drove in one each.

Micayla Galloway got the start and tossed 3.0 innings, scattering three hits and striking out one without allowing a run.

Mahy followed with 3.0 innings of work as well, allowing three unearned runs on two hits while striking out two on her way to picking up the victory.

Walsworth would come on to toss the final inning and allow a hit while striking out one.

A Streetman RBI single would plate Field and put the Storm on the board in the top of the third with a 1-0 lead.

A White RBI single in the fourth would push that to 2-0.

A two-tun homer in the bottom of the fifth by SBU would tie the game, but in the top of the sixth Marshal would break the tie with a solo homer for a 3-2 lead.

The Bearcats would tie the game again in the bottom of the sixth as a pair of Storm errors would allow a runner to score from first after stealing a base, knotting the score at 3-3.

After a leadoff single by White, Monahwee would single home a pinch-running Durst in the top of the seventh to go ahead 4-3.

A batter later Streetman would single home Monahwee for a 5-3 edge, followed by a Mahy two-run homer to extend the lead to 7-3 which SE would hold onto for the win.
