MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southeastern scored five runs over the final two innings of game two to pick up a 6-2 win over No. 9 Southern Arkansas, avenging a 4-2 nine-inning loss in the series opener earlier on Friday afternoon in Magnolia, Ark.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 18-3 overall on the season and 10-2 in Great American Conference play with the rubber match of the series slated for a noon start on Saturday.

Kady Fryrear posted a pair of hits, one of them a home runs, and drove in three runs to lead Southeastern in game two.
Â
Kamarie Wallace,
Peyton Streetman, and
Jaleigh Durst each added a hit, while Durst and
Alexis Lambert each drove in a run.
Â
Cheyenne Mahy tossed a complete game and picked up her seventh win of the season after scattering two runs, one earned, on five hits with four strikeouts over 7.0 innings.

SAU used a pair of doubles in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead.

Fryrear would knot the game in the top of the third with an RBI Single to plate Durst, but the Muleriders answered in the bottom half with a run to retake a 2-1 lead.

Fryrear struck again in the top of the sixth, connecting on a two-run homer to take a 3-2 lead.
Â
SE would load the bases in the top of the seventh, when Durst and Lambert would each drive in a run on a fielder's choice, stretching the lead to 5-2.

Karissa Marshall would push the lead to 6-2 when she scored on a hang-up play as Lambert was caught up in a run down.
Â
Mahy would retire the side in the bottom of the seventh to preserve the 6-2 win.

In the opener, Mahy, Wallace,
Peyton Streetman, and Lambert each logged a hit in the opener, with Streetman driving in a pair of runs.

Amberlyn Walsworth went the distance, tossing 8.2 innings and allowing four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts, but was saddled with her first loss of the season.

Streetman would put the Storm on the board in the top of the fourth inning with a two-run single to drive in Marshall and Mahy, taking a 2-0 lead.

The Muleriders answered in the bottom half of the inning with a two-run homer to knot the game at 2-2.
Â
It would remain there until the bottom of the ninth inning when SAU's Jaxynn Dyson connected on a two-run home run with two outs to give the Muleriders the 4-2 win.
