ALVA, Okla. – Miscues proved costly for Southeastern on Saturday afternoon as the Savage Storm fell 3-0 on the road to Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 1-7 on the season and in Great American Conference Western Division play.

The Storm attack was led by
Caroline Griffith who turned in nine kills while
Skylor Lewis followed with seven.
Â
Ruthie Forson dished out 19 assists, while also adding three kills, seven digs and a pair of blocks.
Â
Grace Shehadeh led the way on defense with 19 digs, while Griffith added four blocks at the net.

In the opening set SE fell behind early and was playing catch up, closing the gap to 12-8 before NWOSU used a a 5-0 run to push its lead out to 19-10.

The teams would trade points the rest of the way with the Rangers taking the set 25-16.

SE jumped ahead early in set two, but the teams would knot the match at 5-5 and 6-6 before NWOSU took five of the next six points to open up an 11-7 lead.

The Storm would close the gap to 12-11 after a 4-1 run but the Rangers would stop the SE rally.

Southeastern would close to two points three times, but NWOSU would hold off any rally for a 25-20 win in set two, taking a 2-0 lead.

The Rangers opened the third set with seven-straight points, but the Storm answered with six of the next eight points to cut the deficit to 9-6.

NWOSU would answer with eight of the next 10 points to leave the Storm in a 17-8 hole.

SE would chip away, but were never able to mount a full rally in a 25-17 loss, dropping the match 3-0.
