DURANT, Okla. – Four Southeastern errors proved costly in the series opener against Oklahoma Baptist as the Savage Storm would fall 5-3 on Thursday afternoon at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 21-4 on the season and 11-3 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series slated for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday.

Offensively,
Kady Fryrear,
Cheyenne Mahy,
Kyia Monahwee,
Gracie Ore, and
Jaleigh Durst each collected a hit.
Â
Fryrear would drive in a pair of runs while
Augusta Duty supplied the other RBI.
Â
In the circle,
Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and tossed 4.0 innings in a no decision, allowing two runs on five hits with three strikeouts.

Mahy would come on in relief and toss the final three innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits with a pair of K's while taking the loss, just her second of the year.

OBU got on the board firs with a two-run double in the top of the fourth, taking a 2-0 lead.

The Storm would answer in the bottom of the fifth as Durst led off with a double, followed by a
Bailey Beard walk before both would come home on a two-run triple by Fryrear to tie the game at 2-2.

Brooklyn Field would pinch run for Fryrear at third and score a batter later as Duty laid down a squeeze bunt to take a 3-2 lead.

The Bison would answer in the top of the sixth, tying the game on a double steal, before an error at first would allow the go ahead run to come home before eventually scoring herself on an RBI single to set the score at 5-3.

SE would load the bases with one out in the bottom of the sixth but come away empty, and would put the tying run on in the bottom of the seventh but was again unable to plate the needed runs, falling 5-3.
