WEATHERFORD, Okla. –
Amberlyn Walsworth tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout as Southeastern came out on top of Southwestern Oklahoma State 1-0 in a pitcher's duel in the series opener on Friday afternoon in Weatherford, Okla.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 26-4 overall and 16-3 in Great American Conference play on the year with the final two games of the series slated for an 11 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday.

Walsworth moved to 13-1 on the season with the win after tossing 7.0 innings and scattering two hits while striking out eight and walking one.

She retired the first 10 batter of the game in order before allowing a walk and a single to back-to-back hitters, but neither would score and it was one of only two runners to advance past first base, with no one reaching third in the contest for the Bulldogs.

At the plate,
Kyia Monahwee posted a pair of hits, one a double and the other a triple.

Kady Fryrear,
Gracie Ore and
Jaleigh Durst would each add a hit.

The lone RBI would come from
Cheyenne Mahy who did not record a hit, instead driving in a run on a groundout.

Neither team would get a runner past second base through four innings, but SE would take advantage of an error and back-to-back singles in the fifth to load the bases with two outs, but were unable to push across a run.

That changed in the sixth as Fryrear lead off the inning with a single, and Brooklynn Field would come on to pinch run.

Field moved to second on a wild pitch and third on a sac bunt from
Augusta Duty before Mahy's groundout to second base would drive her in for the 1-0 lead.

The Bulldogs would get a runner to second in the bottom of the sixth with two outs and SE would end the threat and after a leadoff hit batter by retiring the next three in order to preserve the 1-0 victory.
