Cheyenne Mahy would connect on a two-run home run in the top of the seventh, btu it as not enough to offset a four-run fifth inning by Harding as Southeastern fell in its series opener in Searcy, Ark., 5-2.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 34-8 overall on the season and 24-7 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series slated for a noon doubleheader on Friday afternoon.

Peyton Streetman, Mahy, and
Kamarie Wallace each collected hits, with Mahy's going for a round-tripper, accounting for both RBI.

Mahy also got the start in the circle and tossed 5.0 innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on seven hits with two strikeouts while taking the loss.

Amberlyn Walsworth tossed the final inning and allowed a hit while striking out two.

HU got on the board with an RBI single in the second but took advantage of two hits and an error to load the bases before connecting on a grand slam to leave the Storm in a 5-0 hole in the bottom of the fifth.

SE found an answer in the top of the seventh as Streetman singled and Mahy connected on a two-run home run to get the Storm on the board, but that was where the rally would end in a 5-2 loss.
