SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Southeastern offense had a hard time maintaining momentum on Thursday night in a 3-0 road loss to No. 18 Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Okla.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 5-7 overall on the year and 2-3 in Great American Conference play.

Caroline Griffith paced the SE offense with eight kills, while
Skylor Lewis and
Jessie Steele each added five kills.

Ruthie Forson turned in 22 assists in the effort and added five digs, while
McKenzie Turkoly collected a pair of service aces for the offense.

Defensively, Turkoly led the back row with 10 digs, while
Micah Stiggers added nine and
Grace Shehadeh finished with seven.

Mya Afflerbach recorded five blocks to pace the defense at the net, while Griffith had three stops.

The teams battled back and forth through the first set, with SE eventually taking a 15-12 lead after a block by Afflerbach and Steele. However, OBU would answer with a 12-3 run over the final 15 points of the set to swipe the opener 25-18.
After an even start to set two, a 7-2 Bisons run would leave the Storm playing catch up for the remainder of the set as OBU pulled away for the 25-5 win, taking a 2-0 lead.

In the third set, SE rallied from a small early deficit and following a Lewis and
Malaysia Burns block would take a 12-10 lead. The Bisons answered and the teams would play to an 18-18 tie before OBU took seven of the final 10 points to take the final set 25-21.
