DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern combined for 10 extra base hits over two games saw five pitchers combine on a shutout in the series finale as the Savage Storm swept Colorado Christian by scores of 11-4 and 10-0 on Saturday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 7-1 to open the season.

Reid Rice led the way in the opener with two hits, a triple and a homer, while driving in four runs.

Seth Morrow,
Brett Gonzalez, and
Cameron French each added two hits, with
Damon Burroughs and
Joseph Ramirez adding one apiece.

Burroughs,
Richard Ware, Morrow, Gonzalez, and French each drove in a run.
Â
Cole Canuteson got the start and tossed 4.1 innings, allowing two runs on five hits with four strikeouts in a no decision.

Dylan Turner came on and tossed 1.1 innings in relief, earning the win, while allowing two runs on a hit with one strikeout.

Kenneth Klier would toss the final 1.2 innings without allowing a hit and striking out two to earn the save, his second.

CCU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the second, and the Storm answered in the bottom of the fourth, first with Ware scoring as Morrow reached on an error before Morrow came around and scored on a balk to tie the game at 2-2.

Southeastern got the runs moving in the fifth as Morrow triples home
Dylan Herd to take the lead before scoring on Gonzalez single for a 4-2 lead.

That stretched to 6-2 a batter later on Rice's two-run homer.

The Cougars got two back in the top of the sixth, but SE answered with five more runs in the sixth on a Burroughs double, a Ware sac fly, a Rice two-run triple and a French RBI single, taking an 11-4 lead which would be the final score.

In the finale,
Logan Teske got the start and tossed five scoreless innings, scattering three hits while striking out two to pick up the win.

KC Bryan would strikeout one of the three batters he faced in an inning of work before
Jordan Compton came on to allow a hit and strikeout two in an inning.

Colton Craddock would make his first appearance with an inning of work, scattering two hits, while
Jackson Sioson came on to finish the game, facing the minimum of three hitters in his one inning.

Bryce McDermott went 3-for-3 in game two, while Burroughs and French added two apiece.

Burroughs would drive in three runs, with French plating two, while
Blake McQuain, McDermott,
Heath Pickhardt, and Herd driving in one each.

SE broke through in the third inning as McDermott led off the inning with a home run to center field, followed by a Herd double and an RBI double by Burroughs for a 2-0 lead.

French would tack on a run later in the inning on an RBI single to push the lead to 3-0.

The Storm would add on in the fourth as Burroughs would drive in
Matt Miles and McDermott, and Herd would follow by scoring on a passed ball to double the lead to 6-0.

French would add a run in the sixth on an RBI double.

McQuain would connect on a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth, with Pickhardt doubling home
Luke Lockhert followed by am RBI bases-loaded hit by pitch for Herd to score Rice and fashion the final of 10-0.
