DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern outhit No. 14 Arkansas Tech 12-to-4 in the series finale to pick up an 11-4 win, bouncing back form a 15-2 loss to open the day and sealing a series victory in the first Great American Conference series of the 2022 season.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 9-3 overall and gets them out to a 2-1 start to conference play.

In the finale,
Angel Ochoa and
Blake McQuain each collected three hits, while
Brett Gonzalez added two.
Damon Burroughs,
Reid Rice,
Seth Morrow, and
Bryce McDermott each added one.

McDermott finished the contest with three RBI, while Rice, Morrow, and Ochoa drove in one each. McQuain would also add an RBI.

On the hill, Logan teske would get the start but lasted just one-third of an inning and was tagged with three runs on three hits but ended with a no decision.

Cole Canuteson would come on in the first inning and toss 4.2 innings, allowing a run on a hit with seven strikeouts on his way to earning the win.

Jackson Sioson would finish out the game by tossing two hitless innings.

ATU would open up a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but the Storm struck back in the bottom of the second as Ochoa would drive in a run followed by a McQuain RBI single, during which a throwing error would also bring home Ochoa to tie the game at 3-3.

SE would take the lead an inning later, cashing in on a Gonzalez leadoff triple when McDermott would bring him home on a sac fly for the 4-3 lead.

The Storm would pile on in the bottom of the fourth, first with a two-run Rice single, followed by a two-run pinch-hit double by Morrow to plate Rice and
Richard Ware.

Ochoa would double home a pinch-running
Michael Bernhardt to cap the five-run inning and take a 9-3 lead.

The wonder Boys would get a run back in the top half of the fifth inning, but a two-run single by McDermott would stretch the lead back to the final score of 11-4.

In the opener, Rice collected two hits, while Ware, Gonzalez, Burroughs, Ochoa and
Dylan Herd each added one.

Gonzalez and Herd would pick up one RBI apiece.

Hayden Alexander got the start and was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and three walks over 1.2 innings of work.

Conner Priest,
KC Bryan, and
Jacob Davenport combined for the next 2.1 innings, with each allowing two runs.

Beau Swimmer would finish out the contest with 3.0 innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits.

Gonzalez would homer to lead off the second inning, and Herd would single home Burroughs in the fourth to account for the Storm runs.

ATU would put up four runs in the second and five in the fourth to open up the lead on its way to a 15-2 win in seven innings.
