CONROE, Texas – Southeastern closed out its trip to the Arkansas Tech Winter Invitational on Monday morning, opening the day with a 5-0 win over Texas Woman's before closing the day with a 3-1 loss to No. 15 Oklahoma Christian in Conroe, Texas.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 2-4 overall on the season heading into its second tourney weekend when it travels to Bentonville, Ark., for the UAM Tournament Feb. 11-13

In game one Monday,
Peyton Streetman posted three hits while
Kamryn Rackley,
Cheyenne Mahy, and
Kamarie Wallace each added two.

Kady Fryrear and
Gracie Ore each added one hit.
Â
Streetman drove in a pair of runs, while Mahy, Wallace, and
Kyia Monahwee each had an RBI.
Â
Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and tossed 4.0 innings scoreless innings, scattering two hits and striking out four to improve to 1-2 overall on the year.

Mahy would come on in relief and toss the final three innings, also without allowing a run and scattering two hits, adding five strikeouts to earn her first save of the season.

SE jumped on the bboard early, with Mahy doubling home Streetman three batters into the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead, which would stretch to 2-0 later in the inning as the Storm cashed in on three walks, with Monahwee drawing the final one, a bases-loaded RBI walk.

Streetman would lay down a bunt single to plate Rackley in the bottom of the second to push the lead to 3-0.

A fifth inning Wallace RBI single and a sixth in RBI triple from Streetman would tack on the final two runs in a 5-0 win.

In the finale, Rackley would collect a pair of hits, while Mahy, Ore, and Monahwee each added one, with Ore collecting the lone RBI.

Walsworth again got the start and tossed 3.0 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts in taking the loss.

Mahy would toss 3.0 innings in relief and scattered three hits without allowing a run and striking out two.

An OC RBI single in the first inning put the Eagles in front early and a two-run homer in the third inning would see them stretch that lead to 3-0.

Southeastern would get runners in scoring position in each of the first three innings as well as the sixth and seventh, four times advancing a runner to third without bringing her home.

The Storm did bring in a run in the sixth as Ore tripled home Wallace to close the deficit to 3-1, but that was where the rally would end.
