DURANT, Okla. –
Kamarie Wallace homered while
Amberlyn Walsworth and
Cheyenne Mahy combined to strikeout 10 as Southeastern opened its series against Southern Nazarene with a 6-2 win on Friday afternoon at the SE Softball Field.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 11-10 on the season and 2-2 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series slated for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

Walsworth got the start and earned the win after allowing two runs on five hits across five innings while striking out seven.
Â
Mahy then picked up her second save of the year by tossing the final two innings, allowing a hit while striking out three.
Â
Wallace finished the contest with a pair of hits, including her solo homer, while
Peyton Streetman,
Alexis Lambert, Mahy,
Bailey Beard, and
Lauren White each picked up a hit.
Â
Streetman, Lambert, Mahy, Wallace, and White each recorded an RBI as well.
Â
SNU got on the board first with an RBI double in the second inning.
Â
Southeastern found its answer in the third inning as Lambert and Mahy would squeeze home runs on back-to-back plate appearances, taking a 2-1 lead.

The Crimson Storm would pick up a run in the top of the fourth on a solo homer to tie the game at 2-2.\

That would not remain the case long as Wallace led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer to retake the lead at 3-2.

Later in the inning White would tack on an insurance run with an RBI single, and Beard would round out the scoring as she advanced to third on a wild pitch and made it home on a throwing error by the SNU catcher to take a 5-2 lead.

Streetman would add on one final insurance run in the sixth when she drew a bases-loaded walk to set the final score at 6-2.
