DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern's offense collected 11 hits and put 14 runs on the board, but the Savage Storm pitching staff sent 11 pitchers to the mound on the day in a 15-14 non-conference loss to Rogers State on Tuesday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 28-15 on the season as they get set for a return to Great American Conference play in a key series versus Henderson State April 22-23 in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Offensively,
Reid Rice and
Cameron French each collected three hits, while
Joseph Ramirez added two.
Â
Matt Miles,
Damon Burroughs and
Richard Ware each added a hit.
Â
Ramirez and Ware each homered while Miles added a double.
Â
Ware drove in a team-best three RBI on the day and Ramirez added a pair of RBI, while Miles, Rice, French, Burroughs,
Hayden Evans, and
Angel Ochoa each added one RBI.

Kenneth Klier got the start and tossed one hitless inning in a no decision.
Â
Dillon Bumgarner would come on in relief and was saddled with his first loss of the season after allowing a run on no hits with a walk while not recording an out.
Â
Four pitchers would follow Bumgarner, with none of them recording more than two outs in an inning while combining to allow eight runs on five hits with four walks.
Â
Joseph Bishop would come I and toss 2.2 innings which was the longest outing by an SE pitcher, allowing three runs on three hits with two strikeouts.

Coby Langford tossed one third of an inning, with
Colton Craddock,
Logan Teske, and
Beau Swimmer each throwing a full inning to round out the staff effort.

The final trio allowed just one run on three hits with four strikeouts.

RSU hit hard in the top of the second inning with seven runs to open up a lead.

SE answered with an RBI groundout by Ochoa and an RBI single by Ramirez to cut into the deficit to make it 7-2.

It would extend to 9-2 in the third, but the Storm responded in the bottom of the fourth, with with two runs coming home on an error by the left fielder on a Morrow ball in play, followed by an RBI double by Miles and an RBI single by Rice, cutting the deficit to 9-6.

RSU would score in each of the next two innings to edge its lead to 12-6, but the Stor again closed the gap, this time with a sac fly from French, followed by a Burroughs single and an error with
Hayden Evans bringing home Rice on another sac fly to make the score 10-9.

The Hillcats added two more in the top of the seventh before Ramirez homered in the bottom half to make the score 12-10.

RSU would add a run in the eighth and Ware would connect on a pinch-hit three run shot in the bottom half to make the score 15-13 after eight innings.
Â
Burroughs would bring home Miles on a sac fly in the top of the ninth and SE would have the tying run on third but was unable to bring him home in a 15-14 loss.
