Mahy Homers Twice as Storm Down Rival Tigers

DURANT, Okla. – Cheyenne Mahy homered twice and drove in six of Southeastern's eight runs as the Savage Storm completed a season sweep of East Central with an 8-0 win in six innings on Tuesday afternoon at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The win lifts SE to 20-20 overall on the season and 11-10 in Great American Conference play heading into a three-game home series against Southwestern Oklahoma State.

Mahy finished the contest 3-for-3 with two homers and six RBI, finishing just one shy of the school record of seven in a game.

Gracie Ore added a pair of hits, while Bailey beard, Kamarie Wallace, Marilyn Alvarado and Lauren White each added a hit.

White provided a solo homer as well to pick up an RBI, with Wallace plating the final RBI.

Amberlyn Walsworth tossed a complete game on her way to win number 10 on the season, tossing 6.0 innings and scattering four hits in the shutout with 12 strikeouts.

Mahy put the Storm on the board with a sac fly in the first inning that scored Beard, with Wallace following two batters later with an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0.

The lead hit 3-0 in the second on White's solo homer to centerfield to lead off the inning, and Mahy would lead off the following inning with a solo homer of her own for a 4-0 lead.

Mahy would follow up an inning later with a three-run homer to stretch the lead to 7-0 after four innings, but would bring the game to an early end when she triggered the run rule with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to plate Beard for the 8-0 win.
