BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern battled a cold offensive outing as it dropping both ends of a pair of Sunday games, first falling to Missouri Southern State 8-3 before an 11-1 loss to No. 1 Rogers State in the weekend finale at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville, Ark.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 3-5 overall on the year heading into the Raising Cane's Softball Festival Feb. 17-19 in Edmond, Okla.

In the opener versus Missouri Southern,
Iliana Olivares led the way with a pair of hits, while
Sammi Dutton,
Makayla Geeslin,
Alexis Massie,
Gracie Ore, and
India McMurray each collected a hit.

Olivares, Massie, and
Ananda Garrison each added an RBI.
Â
Taylor Reese got the start and took the loss after allowing eight runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts across 6.0 innings of work.

Janelle Marwitz came on to finish the game with one scoreless inning pitched.
Â
MSSU scored three in the top of the first inning, adding another in the third and two each in the fifth and the sixth to open up an 8-0 lead in the game.

A Massie RBI double followed by an RBI by Garrison would get the Storm on the board in the bottom of the sixth, closing to 8-2.

Olivares would add a sac fly in the seventh to plate Dutton, setting the final tally to 8-3.

Against the top-ranked Hillcats in the weekend finale, Dutton,
Kady Fryrear, and Olivares each collected hits, while Olivares picked up another RBI.

Marwitz got the start but did not record an out as she was tagged for five runs on two hits in the first inning in the loss.

Amberlyn Walsworth came on in relief and tossed 4.0 innings while allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits with four strikeouts.

RSU jumped out early with eight runs in the first inning and would add a run in the third to stretch the lead to 9-0.

Olivares would double home Dutton in the top of the fourth to get the Storm on the board, but the Hillcats would add two more in the bottom of the fourth to make the final 11-1.
