EDMOND, Okla.  – Southeastern wrapped up play in the Raising Cane's Collegiate Festival by first picking up its third-straight win, besting Northeastern State, 5-1, before nearly upsetting No. 6 Central Oklahoma on its home field, dropping a 5-4 decision in the weekend finale.

The split moves the Savage Storm record to 6-8 on the season as they will now prepare for both their home and Great American Conference opener Versus Arkansas-Monticello Feb,. 24-25 at the Southeastern Softball Field.

Five different players collected hits in the game, with Iliana Olivares collecting a pair of RBI and Cheyenne Mahy adding one.

Olivares would put the Storm on the board in the third inning when she connected on a two-run single to stake SE to a 2-0 lead.

NSU would get a run on the board in the top of the sixth to cut the SE lead in half.

Southeastern responded with a trio of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, first with Mahy bringing home Gracie Ore on a sac fly, before taking advantage of a RiverHawk error to add two more runs and pish the lead to 5-1 which would hold up as the final score.

In the finale, the Storm would jump in front of the host Bronchos when Mahy connected on a solo homer in the top of the first inning.

UCO would answer with four runs in the bottom of the second with a pair of RBI doubles and a sac fly.

Unfortunately, UCO would get an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to steak the contest by a 504 final.
