Reid Rice went 5-for-7 over two games, but it was not enough to lift Southeastern as the Savage Storm dropped both ends of a Sunday doubleheader versus Arkansas-Monticello, falling 16-6 and 5-2 in Monroe, La.

The losses drop SE to 6-8 overall on the season and 1-4 in Great American Conference play with the series finale slated for noon on Monday back in Monroe, La.

Reid Rice went 3-for-4 in the opener with a trio of RBI, while five others each collected a hit.
Â
Rice and
Cameron Cromer each homered, while Cromer chipped in three RBI of his own.
Â
Cole Canuteson got the start and tossed 4.0 innings in a no decision, allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits with four strikeouts.
Â
Charlie Deeds would come on in relief and allow five runs, only to of them earned, without allowing a hit while striking out three and walking three in an inning of work.
Â
Jakob Berger followed with an inning pitched and was tagged for four runs on five hits before
Jordan Compton came on for the final one-third of an inning, allowing a run on a hit.

UAM opened with a 2-0 lead but the Storm fired right back in the too of the second as Cromer would connect on a three-run homer to take a 3-2 lead.

The Boll Weevils would tie the game at 3-3 with a run in the third, but Rice would drive in a run in the fourth to regain the lead at 4-3.
Â
UAM would jump in front 6-4 in the fifth, but the top of the sixth would see Rive connect on a two-run game-tying homer to knot the game at 6-6.
Â
However, the Weevils would add six runs in the bottom of the sixth and four more in the seventh to trigger the run-rule and a 16-6 final score.

In in the nightcap, Rice added two more hits, while Cam Creed,
Blake McQuain,
Cameron French, and
Joseph Ramirez added one hit apiece.

McQuain and
Matt Miles each added an RBI in the contest.

Cameron Hauch got the start and took the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in three innings of work.

Dylan Turner tossed two innings in relief and allowed a hit with four strikeouts before
Brody Logsdon would toss the final inning and strikeout one without allowing a hit.

Miles would bring home the first run of the game with an RBI groundout in the top of the second, but UAM would answer with a run to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning.

The Weevils would then tack on four runs in the third to take a 5-01 lead.
Â
McQuain would drive in SE's second run on a groundout in the fifth, closing the final gap to 5-2.
