DURANT, Okla. –
John David Muse homered twice, but the Southeastern bullpen was dinged for six runs in the sixth inning and the Savage Storm was unable to complete a rally in an 11-10 loss to Henderson State to open the three-game series on Friday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The loss drops SE to 11-13 overall and 4-9 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series set for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.

Muse finished with a pair of hits in the contest, one a two-run homer in the fourth inning and the other a three-run shot in the fifth.

Reid Rice also posted a pair of hits, adding a home run to his total.

Cory Bonstrom picked up a hit in his return to the lineup, while
Damon Burroughs,
Seth Morrow,
Jake Miller, and
Cache Stone each added a hit.

Muse finished with five RBI on the game with Morrow driving in two, while Rice and
Austin Thorpe drove in one each.

Cole Canuteson got the start and took a no decision after allowing five runs, only two of them earned, on five hits in five innings pitched with two strikeouts.

Charlie Deeds would come on in the sixth and would wind up taking the loss after allowing four runs on four hits without recording an out.

Jakob Berger would follow, allowing two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning with one strikeout.

Jared Barta would finish the game with 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out three.

SE got on the board first with Torp driving in a run on a fielder's choice that plated Stone for the 1-0 lead.

HSU would answer with a run in the top of the third ands then take the lead on a pair of runs in the fourth to go up 3-1.

Muse's first homer would answer in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game at 3-3.

The Reddies would retake the lead on back-to-back RBI groundouts in the fifth, going up 5-3 midway through the fifth inning.

Southeastern would answer, first scoring on a Morrow RBI single followed by Burroughs stealing home to tie the game at 5-5.

The Storm would then tack on another Muse homer, this one a three-run shot to take an 8-5 lead after five innings.

HSU would find its own answer in the top of the sixth, putting up six runs to take an 11-8 lead.

Morrow would bring home
Joseph Ramirez on a sac fly in the bottom of the sixth and Rice would connect on a monster solo homer in the eighth, but the Storm rally would end there in an 11-10 loss.
