ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  – Southeastern opened the day with a dominant 6-0 win over Henderson State to secure a series victory, but dropped the finale in the afternoon by a 6-4 final score in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 16-14 overall on the season and 10-4 in Great American Conference play.

In game one,
Reese Taylor carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and would finish the shutout after allowing just two hits and striking out 10 over seven innings to earn her sixth win of the season.

Iliana Olivares posted a 3-for-4 outing, while
Kady Fryrear collected a pair of hits.

Sabetha Sands,
Cheyenne Mahy,
Alexis Massie, and Grace Ore each added a hit in the game.

Mahy, Fryrear, Olivares, Massie, and Ore each had an RBI.
Â
Mahy and Fryrear would drive in runs on back-to-back RBI doubles in the top of the first and Massie would add another run on an RBI single to push the advantage to 3-0 top of the first inning.

Rackley would tack on a run in the fifth when she scored as Fryrear reached on an error, pushing the lead to 4-0.

SE would tack on a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh, first on an Olivares double and finally on an Ore double, taking a 6-0 lead which would hold up as the final.

In the series finale, Olivares and
Bailey Beard each had a pair of hits, while
Kamryn Rackley,
Sammi Dutton, Mahy, Ore,
Jaleigh Durst, and Sands each added a hit.

Beard would drive in a pair of runs while Rackley and Olivares had an RBI each.
Â
Amberlyn Walsworht got the start and tossed 5.1 innings in the loss, allowing six runs, four of them earned, on seven hits with six strikeouts.

Taylor would come on and record the final two outs without allowing a hit with one K.

Southeastern would score first with Beard and Rackley posting back-to-back RBI singles to take a 2-0 lead.

That extended to 3-0 in the top of the third on an Olivares RBI single.
Â
HSU would answer in the bottom half of the third, first on a sac fly and then adding three more runs thanks to an error, taking a 4-3 lead.

The Reddies would add two more in the sixth, and the Storm would look to answer in the top of the seventh with a Beard Rbi single to close the gap to 6-4 which would end up as the final score.
