ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Despite scoring first in both contests, Southeastern was unable to hold off Ouachita Baptist either time, first falling 6-1 in the opener before dropping a 7-5 contest in the nightcap on Sunday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 14-15 overall and 6-11 in Great American Conference play, with the series finale set for noon on Monday.

In the opener,
Damon Burroughs tripled and finished with a pair of hits, while
Seth Morrow and
Matt Miles added a hit each.
Â
Cameron French would drive in the team's lone RBI.

Cole Canuteson got the start and was left with a no decision after allowing a run on five hits in 5.0 innings pitched with five strikeouts.

Charlie Deed would come on in relief and tossed 2.0 innings but was tagged for five runs on eight hits in taking the loss.

Coby Langford would finish the game, throwing an inning and retiring the side.

French would bring in the game's first run on an RBI groundout hat scored Burroughs for a 1-0 lead in the top of the second.

The tigers would respond with a run in the bottom of the second and the score would remain a 1-1 tie until the seventh inning.

OBU would then tack on a pair of runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth to pull out to a 6-1 lead which would end up as the final.

In the nightcap,
Sam Creed,
Joseph Ramirez,
Reid Rice, and
Seth Morrow each collected two hits, while
Damon Burroughs,
Cache Stone, and
Austin Thorp each added one.

Rice would homer and rive in two in the game, while Burroughs, Morrow, and Stone each drove in one.

Dylan Turner got the start and also took a no decision after allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits over five innings with a pair of strikeouts.

Jared Barta would come on and take the loss after getting tagged for three runs on two hits without recording an out.

Brody Logsdon would follow with an inning pitched and allowed a run on a hit with two strikeouts.

After Creed opened the game with a double, Rice would put the Storm on the board with a two-run homer to go up 2-0.

SE tacked on two more runs in the third with Morrow driving in a run on a sac fly and Stone singling home
Jake Miller for a 4-0 lead.

Burroughs would drive in Creed on an infield single in the fourth to push the lead to 5-0.

OBU would answer with a run in the bottom half of the fourth, cutting the advantage to 5-1.

The Tigers would then capitalize on back-to-back walks to start the sixth inning, followed by a hit batter, a balk, a wild pitch, and three hits to pile on six runs to take a 7-5 lead which would end up as the final score.
