Storm Baseball Drops Series Finale at OBU

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern closed out its three-game road series at Ouachita Baptist with a 10-2 loss on Monday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 14-16 overall on the season and 6-12 in Great American Conference play heading into a midweek, nonconference contest against Oklahoma Baptist at 3 p.m. on March 29 at Mike Metheny Field.
 
In the finale, Joseph Ramirez and Jake Miller each collected a pair of hits, while Sam Creed, Reid Rice, Matt Miles, and Cameron Cromer each added one.
 
Rice and Miles accounted for an RBI each.
 
On the hill, Micheal Barta got the start and suffered his first loss of the season after allowing nine runs, six earned, on six hits over 3.0 innings of work.
 
Jordan Compton followed with an inning and allowed a run on a hit.
 
Patrick Norman then added 2.0 innings in relief and struck out four of the seven batters he faced without allowing a run or a hit.
 
Jackson Sioson would toss the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out one.
 
OBU opened with the game's first runs on a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning.
 
The Tigers added a run in the second on an RBI double, taking a 3-0 lead.
 
In the third inning, OBU would take advantage of a walk and an error on its way to a four-run inning and would tack on three more in the bottom of the fourth thanks to four walks, pushing the lead to 10-0.
 
Rice would bring home Ramirez in the top of the fifth on an RBI single to cut into the deficit and Miles would double home Miller in the sixth to close the gap to 10-2 which would end up as the final score.
