DURANT, Okla.  –
Cheyenne Mahy tossed the team's third-straight complete-game gem in the circle as Southeastern polished off a three-game sweep of Ouachita Baptist with a 4-1 win in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at the Southeastern Softball Field.
Â
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 19-14 overall on the season and 13-4 in Great American Conference play.
Â
Mahy moved to 5-2 on the season after allowing a run on four hits with eight strikeouts over 7.0 innings of work.
Â
Kady Fryrear had a pair of hits in the contest to lead Southeastern, while
Kamryn Rackley,
Marilyn Alvarado,
India McMurray,
Ananda Garrison, and
Sammi Dutton each added hit.
Â
McMurray drove in a pair of runs and connected on her first homer of the season, and Mahy added an RBI to help the cause.
Â
McMurray put SE on the board in the second inning with a two-run homer to right field that also plated Fryrear for the 2-0 lead.
Â
Rackley would come home on a Mahy sac fly in the third to stretch the lead to 3-0.
Â
A Tiger solo homer in the top of the sixth would cut into the Storm advantage, but Southeastern answered in the bottom half when Garrison reached on an infield hit and was caught in a rundown between first and second which allowed
Iliana Olivares time to come around and score before Garrison eluded the run down and reached second safely, stretching the lead to 4-1 which would hold up as the final score.
