Mahy, Taylor Shut Down Bulldogs in Saturday Sweep

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Cheyenne Mahy tossed a no-hitter and Reese Taylor followed with a one-hit shutout as Southeastern completed a series sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State with a pair of 3-0 wins in a Saturday afternoon twinbill in Weatherford, Okla.
 
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 11-11 overall on the year and 5-1 in Great American Conference play.
 
Mahy tossed her second career no-hitter in game one as she struck out six and walked two on her way to her third win of the year in the circle.
 
Sabetha Sands and Gracie Ore each collected a pair of hits and an RBI, while Sammi Dutton added an RBI on a hit.
 
Kamryn Rackley, Mahy, and Marilyn Alvarado each picked up a hit in the contest.
 
Dutton put the Storm on the board with an RBI single in the third that plated Ore for the 1-0 lead.
 
Sands would add a single in the fourth which drove in Alexis Massie to extend the lead to 2-0 before Ore completed the scoring in the sixth with an RBI single to drive in Sands and set the final at 3-0.
 
Taylor would follow with the start in game three and would strikeout five and walk three while allowing just one hit in the victory.
 
Rackley, Mahy, Kady Fryrear, Alvarado, and Ore each picked up hits, while Mahy drove in two and Fryrear added an RBI.
 
Fryrear would put Southeastern on the board in the finale with a fielder's choice which plated Rackley for the 1-0 lead in the fourth.
 
Mahy would tack on a pair of insurance runs with an RBI single in the seventh to pushy the final to 3-0.
