DURANT, Okla. –
Sammi Dutton homered and
Reese Taylor tossed a complete-game shutout as Southeastern opened its final home conference series with a 4-0 victory over Arkansas Tech Friday afternoon at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 27-21 overall and 21-7 in Great American Conference play with the final two games set for a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m.

Gracie Ore and
Cheyenne Mahy each picked up a pair of hits, while
Sabetha Sands,
Marilyn Alvarado,
Iliana Olivares, and Dutton each added a hit.

Dutton would drive in a run o her solo homer, while Olivares and
Kady Fryrear each added an RBI.
Â
Taylor would get the start and collect her 10
th win of the season after scattering four hits without allowing run over seven innings with five strikeouts.

Southeastern would finally break through first in the bottom of the fourth inning as Olivares would drive in
Alexis Massie on a pinch-hit RBI single. A batter later when Bailey beard re-entered for Olivares, Beard would steal second, allowing Ore to score on an error to take a 2-0 lead.

Fryrear would lay down a squeeze bunt to plate Sands in the fifth, stretching the lead to 3-0.

Dutton would then add a final insurance run with a solo homer to right in the sixth.

Taylor would retire the final 13 batters she faced from the final out of the third inning on to preserve the 4-0 victory.
