RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Despite collecting 20 hits over two games, Southeastern found itself on the wrong end of a pair of losses on Saturday afternoon against Arkansas Tech, dropping game one 10-3 and game two 2-1.
The losses drop the Savage Storm to 23-23 overall on the season and 14-15 in Great American Conference play.
Seth Morrow picked up a pair of hits in game one, while
Sam Creed,
John David Muse,
Cory Bonstrom,
Reid Rice,
Damon Burroughs,
Jake Miller,
Joseph Ramirez,
Cameron French,
Dylan Herd, and
Matt Miles all picked up a hit each.
Rice, Morrow, and Ramirez would each add an RBI.
Michael Barta got the start and took the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits in three innings.
Cameron Hauch followed with two innings of work and was tagged for three runs on five hits.
Patrick Norman would finish the game and allowed a run on two hits in three innings.
Atu would put up four runs in the first and added another in the third before the Storm got on the board on a Ramirez RBI single to make the score 5-1.
The Wonder Boys would add two more in the bottom of the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth to stretch its lead to 10-1 after six innings.
A Rice sac fly and a Morrow RBI single in the eighth would narrow the final score to 10-3.
In the nightcap, Burroughs an French each had a pair of hits, while Bonstrom, Morrow, Miller, and Ramirez added one each.
French would double and collect the team's lone RBI, while Burroughs would add a triple.
French would give the Storm the lead with an RBI double in the second inning to plate Rice for a 1-0 lead.
ATU would answer by tacking advantage of an error on a steal attempt which allowed two runs to come home in the fourth which would provide the difference in a 2-1 final score.
