SE Downs SNU in Final At Bat in Midweek Matchup

DURANT, Okla. – It was déjà vu at Mike Metheny Field as for the fourth time this season Southeastern picked up a victory over Southern Nazarene on the final at bats of the ballgame, this one a 2-1 win in the bottom of the 10th inning on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 24-23 overall on the year heading into the regular season finale series in Ada, Okla., versus East Central April 28-29.

Sam Creed and Dylan Herd each picked up a pair of hits to lead the SE offense, while Matt Miles, Reid Rice, Joseph Ramirez, and Cameron French each added a hit.

Creed would record the team's lone RBI, while Herd and Ramirez each scored a run.

Bristol Carson got the start and took a no decision after allowing a hit and striking out three in three innings.

Coby Langford followed with two innings and struck out two.

Connor Priest tossed a scoreless inning before Colby Kroutil came on and recorded the next inning but did allow a run on a hit.

Dillon Bumgarner would toss two-thirds of an inning followed by Brody Logsdon who finished that inning and tossed the next.

Charlie Deeds would come in and toss the 10th, allowing a hit and striking out one on his way to his second win of the season.

SE struck first with a run in the third inning, cashing in a Herd double with a Creed RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.

The Crimson Storm would answer with a solo homer in the seventh to even the score at 1-1.

In the bottom of the 10th, Ramirez would draw a one out walk, setting the stage for a French two-out single to centerfield which was misplayed, allowing Ramirez to come around and score the game-winning run from first base for the 2-1 victory.
