DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern head coach
Mackenzie Sher picked up her 100
th career win as a head coach as Southeastern opened the day with a 7-2 win over Cameron before falling in game two 8-6 to split the Tuesday afternoon doubleheader at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 30-22 overall on the season heading into the regular season finale series versus Southern Arkansas on April 28-29 in Magnolia, Ark.

In the opener,
Marilyn Alvarado and
Cheyenne Mahy each collected two hits to lead the way while
Kady Fryrear,
Alexis Massie, and
Gracie Ore each added one.

Massie would drive in a pair of runs, while
Sabetha Sands, Alvarado, Mahy, Fryrear, and
Sammi Dutton each drove in one.
Â
Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on three hits with six strikeouts.

Cameron would get on the board first with an RBI triple in the top of the first inning, but SE would respond as Fryrear drove in a run on an RBI single followed by a two-run double by Massie for the 3-1 lead.

The Aggies would answer with a home run in the fourth to close the gap to 3-2.

Dutton would get the offense moving again when she plated
Kamryn Rackley on an RBI fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth.

Sands would follow with an RBI sac fly, with Alvarado adding an RBI double, followed by a Mahy RBI double to stretch the lead to 7-2 which would hold up as the final.

In the nightcap, Rackley collected a team-high two hits, while Alvarado, Mahy, Fryrear, and
Reese Taylor each had a hit.

Taylor drove in a pair of runs, while Sands, Alvarado, and Massie each had an RBI.
Â
Taylor would get the start and take the loss after allowing four runs on five hits with four strikeouts over 6.1 innings of work.
Â
Mahy would toss two-thirds of an inning in relief and was tagged for four runs on four hits.
Â
A Taylor RBI double would put the Storm on the board in the second inning, but a run in the third and three more in the fourth would give CU a 4-1 lead.

A Taylor sac fly, followed by a bases-loaded walk by Sands and an RBI single by Alvarado would erase the deficit and knot the game at 4-4.
Â
That did not last long through as the Aggies would put up four in the fifth to open an 8-4 lead.

A Massie sac fly would drive in
Bailey Beard and Fryrear would come home on an error later itn eh seventh to close the final deficit to 8-6.
