BETHANY, Okla. – Southeastern secured a series victory with a 10-3 win over Southern Nazarene to open the day on Friday, but just missed a series sweep with a 6-5 loss in the finale to end the day.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 23-18 overall and 17-6 in Great American Conference play.

Ananda Garrison,
Marilyn Alvarado, and
Gracie Ore each logged a pair of hits to lead the offense in Friday's opener.

Sabetha Sands,
Kady Fryrear,
Reese Taylor,
Sammi Dutton, and
Kamryn Rackley each finished the game with a hit.

Garrison posted a game-high four RBI, while Alvarado drove in three.
Â
Fryrear, Ore, and Taylor each added one RBI.

Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and tossed a complete game in the win, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out eight on her way to her 10
th win of the season.

Back-to-back BRI singles by Ore and Taylor put Southeastern on the board with a 2-0 lead.

SNU would answer with a run in the bottom of the first to cut that advantage in half.

An Alvarado RBI single would stretch the lead, but the Crimson Storm answered as well to make the score 3-2.

Garrison would tack on two more runs on a single in the top of the third to take a 5-2 lead, but again SNU would respond with a run.

Leading 5-3, the Storm would add two runs in the fourth on an Alvarado double, followed by a Fryrear squeeze bunt that pushed the lead to 8-3.

Not finished, SE would add on two more insurance runs with a two-run Garrison double in the top fo the seventh to make the final score 10-3.

In the series finale,
Cheyenne Mahy turned in a trio of hits, while Garrison, Sands, and Rackley added two apiece.

Iliana Olivares,
Jaleigh Durst, and Taylor each added a hit.
Â
Taylor would drive in two runs, while Sands and Mahy added an RBI each.
Â
Mahy would get the start and take the loss, allowing six runs, three earned, on six hits.
Â
Taylor would bring home a pair of runs in the top of the first, but SNU would score a trio of unearned runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-2 lead.

A Mahy RBI single in the second would tie the game and a Sands RBI single in the third would give the Storm a 4-3 lead.
SE would take advantage of an error to add a run in the top of the sixth, taking a 5-3 lead.

That would not last however as the Crimson Storm would get a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to take a 65 lead which would hold up as the final.
