Volleyball Set to open Home Schedule Friday, Saturday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball will open the home portion of its schedule when it welcomes Drury for a 6 p.m. matchup on Sept. 15 in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium, and will close out the first home weekend with Southwest Baptist on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m.
 
SE has a record of 3-6 so far in the 2023 season following a tough road loss against Northwestern Oklahoma State in the conference opener earlier in the week. 
 
D'Nari Mills has opened the season among the nation's best, leading all of NCAA DII in total kills and ranking in the top five in kills per set and points per set. She is posting 5.03 kills per set through nine matches.
 
Meanwhile, Ruthie Forson returned to her setter position after missing the past weekend and is averaging 9.15 assists per set while adding 1.55 kills per set on offense and 2.40 digs per set defensively.
 
Mills and Patience Lewis lead the team on the back row with an average of 3.14 digs per set each, while Amaya Constantino is right behind at 2.86 digs per set. 
 
Drury comes into Friday's matchup with a 1-7 record on the season, with Juliana Squire leading the way offensively at 2.80 kills per set.
 
On defense, the Panther's Lexi Basler leads the team averaging 4.87 digs per set across the back row, while Squire is adding 4.47 dps. 
 
Southwest Baptist comes into the weekend with a 6-3 record, and will be playing a doubleheader on Saturday, first taking on East Central at 1 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium before facing the Storm at 4 p.m.
 
Ella Rademaker is the team's leader in kills with 3.88 kills per set, while Bailey Lasater has handled the setting duties to the tune of 6.26 assists per set. 
 
Paityn Kramer leads the Bearcat defense with 5.04 digs per set.
