ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern would go cold from the field over the final six minutes and see a late lead disappear as Henderson State would swipe an 83-81 final score on Thursday night in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 10-7 overall and 6-3 in Great American Conference play heading into a Saturday afternoon matchup with Ouachita Baptist at 3 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Southeastern had three players post 18 points in the contest.

Brennen Burns finished with 18 on 6-of-13 shooting and turned in a double-double with a season-high 12 assists.

Kody Clouet got his 18 with an efficient 6-of-9 effort from the field and a 5-of-6 mark at the free throw line.

Jett Sternberger hit 18 after posting an 8-of-8 performance at the free throw line.

Kyle Leslie would round out the double-digit scorers with 12 thanks to a trio of threes.

Clouet led the way on the boards with six, with six SE players pulling in four or more boards in the contest.

Sternberger would score six of the team's first 14 points as SE used an 8-0 run in the middle of that span to take a 14-6 lead by the 14:48 mark of the first half.

HSU would creep back, using a 16-7 run to cut the Storm advantage and tie the game at 31-31 with 3:52 to play in the half.

A pair of Clouet free throws would break the tie and SE would score 12 of the final 19 points to take a 43-38 lead into the half.

HSU would trim the Storm lead to two points early in the second half, but that would yo-yo as Clouet would score seven of the team's next 14 points as SE would push its lead out to 61-52 by the 12:57 mark of the half.

Southeastern would keep the Reddies at arm's length over the next five minutes before the home team would use an 8-2 run to cut the Storm advantage to 72-70 with 6:33 to play.

SE would then go from the 6:07 mark until the 46 second mark without a field goal as HSU held an 11-5 scoring advantage over that stretch to take an 81-79 lead.

Burns would hit a pull up jumper to tie the game at 81-82 with 46 seconds remaining, but the Reddies would get a near matching jumper with 18 seconds to play which would be the difference in an 83-81 final score.
