DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State's dominant win over Dallas Christian 125-77 on Saturday night gives the Storm their first win of the 2024-25 season.
SE (1-2) shot 56.5 percent (48-85) from the field and 44.4 percent (16-36) from the three-point line after going 11-of-16 from beyond the arc in the second half. The Savage Storm out-rebounded DCC 50-29 and won the turnover battle 26 to 11.
Daniel Halldorsson tied for the second most assists in a single game with 16, and added nine rebounds, nine points and five steals to his totals, while
Landon Condiff led the scoring with 25 points on 7-of-13 shooting from deep. Four other players joined in double-figure points, led by
Elijah Hughey with 14 on 5-of-8 shooting from the field.
Robert Briley registered 13, and
Mihailo Stijovic and
DJ Dill recorded 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Southeastern opened the first half with a 7-2 lead behind four points for Stijovic and a three-pointer from Condiff. A pair of triples from Dallas Christian kept the Crusaders close down two, 11-8. The Strom picked up the pace, building a 9-0 run to stretch their advantage to 20-8 and would lead 30-11 with 8:47 left in the half following a 10-0 burst.
Dallas Christian strung together a pair of baskets to cut the gap to 33-18, and the Storm replied moments later with back-to-back triples by Stijovic and Halldorsson to grow the gap to 47-23, setting up a 52-34 lead heading into halftime.
Stijovic led the scorers in the first 20 minutes with nine points on 4-of-8 shooting, while the Storm shot 45.7 percent from the field and 25.0 percent at the three-point line. Southeastern won the battle at the glass 26-20 and forced the visitors into 17 compared to its five.
SE began the final period with Condiff knocking down a triple, and the Storm added to their score with baskets from Briley and Stijovic. The Crusaders got hot from deep, draining back-to-back triples on a 7-0 run, but SE replied, outscoring the visitors 12-3 over the next two minutes with a pair of triples by Condiff.
The Storm stayed hot at three-point line, with
Chandler Dickinson and Condiff knocking down back-to-back triples, and moments later, Condiff would make his seventh triple of the game to push Southeastern ahead 93-55. Dill, Hughey and
Brady Brister joined in on the three-point shooting, all draining triples to help SE to a 125-77 win.
Southeastern (1-2) remains at home for its next contest against Arlington Baptist on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
