DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State sweeps past Northwestern Oklahoma State 3-0 at home on Thursday night to split the season series and improve to 12-13 overall and 7-6 in the GAC.

Nicole Solum-Mitchell said. "It was nice to get some redemption as a team moving forward for our confidence. Our middles are winning us games. Michera and Alexis are doing their job and doing it well, and I'm really proud of both of them," said coach Solum-Mitchell.
D'Nari Mills and
Alexis Williams led the attack with 13 and 10 kills, respectively, while Williams attacked at a clip of .500. Mills added 12 digs to her totals for a double-double and led the team with 5.0 total blocks.
Ruthie Forson dished out 44 assists, and
Patience Lewis paced the side with 18 digs.
Michera Moffett finished the match with eight kills and 4.0 total blocks, and
Noelia Rocha and
Faith Kruebbe combined for ten kills. Â
SET ONE
SE held the Ranger attack in check at the first break as the Storm built a 10-3 lead behind a pair of kills from both Kruebbe and Moffett. Southeastern stretched its advantage out of the break to 16-4 with another three kills by Rocha in a 6-1 run to force the final timeout from the Rangers. NWOSU began to find its footing in the set after the timeout, cutting SE's lead to 17-9 on a 4-0 burst.

A pair of kills by Mills got the Storm back on track, and another by Forson put the blue-and-gold ahead 21-13. The Rangers applied late pressure on a 3-0 run to cut the gap to five, but a kill by Williams secured the set for the Storm 25-19. Â Â

SET TWO
Another fast start by Southeastern saw the Storm jump out to an 8-3 lead on a 4-0 run capped off by back-to-back aces by Kruebbe. From there, the two sides went point-for-point before SE built a 4-0 burst to stretch the gap to 14-6. The Rangers stayed on the Storm's heels with a flurry of points, including a 6-1 run to trim SE's advantage to 16-13. The blue-and-gold replied with a 4-0 run and added to its advantage later with a pair of kills by Moffett and Rocha to set up a 25-18 set victory.

SET THREE
Southeastern opened the set with a 7-2 lead with three kills by Mills and added to its edge on a 4-0 run, 11-3. SE stayed on the front foot through Williams, who slammed down four straight kills to extend the Storm's advantage to 16-6. After weathering a burst of points by the Storm, NWOSU picked up the pace on an 8-0 burst to slash the Southeastern lead to 16-14.

The Storm regrouped with timeout and, out of the break, went on a 4-0 run featuring two kills by Moffett before two more kills from Mills and another by Moffett secured the final set 25-20.

Southeastern (12-13, 7-6) heads to Ada next time out to face East Central on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Kerr Activities Center.
