DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern would outscore Henderson State 15-0 over the final 5:32 to rally for a 59-46 victory in the Great American Conference opener on Thursday night in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 4-3 overall on the year and opens league play with a 1-0 record heading into a Saturday afternoon contest versus Ouachita Baptist at 1 p.m. back in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Abbie Barr led SE in scoring on the game with 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting with a trio of threes.

Stevie Stinchcomb followed with a 4-for-7 effort and a 4-for-4 performance at the line to finish with 12 points, with
Kenzli Warden turning in 11.

Caitlin Kobiske had a tough night on offense with just seven points but led the Storm on the glass with 10 rebounds.

Stinchcomb was next I line with seven while
Holli Lindley added six to go with eight points.

Stinchcomb and Barr would each hand out a pair of assists to lead SE in the stat.

SE would jump in front early, scoring the first five points of the game and leading by as many as 10 points late in the first quarter before taking a 16-8 lead into the first quarter break.

The Storm would use a pair of threes and an edge in turnovers in the first quarter to take that first-quarter edge.

The tide would turn in the second quarter as SE would go cold from the field, hitting 2-of-15 in the second 10 minutes as HSU would use a 10-0 run over the latter half of the period to take 24-22 lead at the halftime break.

The Reddies would push their lead out to seven points by the 8:12 mark of the third quarter and would maintain that margin with just under seven minutes to go in the frame.

SE would use a 9-7 edge over the next 5:50 to close the gap to 38-35 with 1:31 to go in the third quarter and that same three-point gap would remain at the final quarter break with the score 41-38.

SE would close the gap to one point twice early in the fourth quarter and would finally regain the lead at 44-43 at the 6:02 mark on a
Kaydrin Scott bucket.

The Reddies would take the lead back on the next possession on a three, but the Storm followed with a 17-3 run over the next 6:03 to retake the lead and pull away for a 59-46 victory.
