DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern put four players in double-figures and overcame a slow start to pick up its second-straight win to open Great American Conference play, downing Ouachita Baptist 72-66 on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 5-3 overall on the season and gets them to 2-0 to open league play heading into its first GAC road game on Dec. 12 at 5:30 p.m. versus Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Okla.

Caitlin Kobiske and
Holli Lindley each led SE with 15 points apiece, with Kobiske doing half her work at the free throw line where she was 7-of-7 while Lindley finished the night shooting 50.0 percent from the floor.

Stevie Stinchcomb was next in line with 14 points, going 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and adding a pair of free throws, while
Kenzli Warden put up 10 points.

Bri Wietelman would finish with six, draining a pair of threes, while
Connie Hughes came off the bench with five.

Kobiske and Stinchcomb would finish the afternoon with four assists each, with Warden adding three.

On t he boards, Lindley led the way with seven rebounds, while Kobiske added six and Stinchcomb chipped in five.

Lindley and
Abbie Barr would each snag three steals, while Warden would position herself for three blocked shots.

SE got off to a slow start to open the contest, shooting 23.1 percent in the first quarter, as the Tigers opened with the first six points as part of a 10-2 run to open the game.

The deficit would stretch to as many as 12 points before settling at 19-9 at the first quarter break.

SE would chip away at the deficit, opening the second quarter with a
Connie Hughes three and slowly erasing the deficit, ultimately tyig the game at 24-24 on a Barr bucker with 5:08 to play in the quarter.

OBU would answer with seven-straight points, but a Wietelman three would end that run and the Storm would close out the half on a 9-3 run to close the gap to 34-33 at halftime.

The teams traded buckets to open the second half, but the Storm would reel off a 7-0 run capped by a pair of Kobiske free throws to take a 43-36 lead early in the third quarter.

Ouachita would chip away at that advantage, eventually taking a 51-47 lead with 2:30 to play in the quarter, but SE would hit three of four free throw opportunities in the final two minutes to close the gap to 51-50 heading to the fourth.

A Lindley layup and a
Connie Hughes fast break bucket would put Southeastern back in front early in the fourth.

The game would remain within one possession for the next five and a half minutes until the Storm used back-to-back three from Lindley and Stinchcomb to take a 66-60 lead with 3:12 to play.

The Tigers would rally and knot he score once more at 66-66 with 1:40 to play, but the Storm would score the final six points of the game, including Barr and Stinchcomb combining to go 4-of-4 at the free throw line in the final 31 seconds, preserving the 72-66 win.
