DURANT, Okla. – A pair of free throws from
Caitlin Kobiske would ice the game as Southeastern picked up its second-straight win, downing Southwestern Oklahoma State 68-64 on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Savage Storm improves to 9-15 overall and 5-13 in the Great American Conference play, while the Bulldogs drop to 12-12 and 9-9 in conference play.

Kenzli Warden led a trio of double-digit scorers with 21 points, hitting 7-of-13 from the field and 6-of-9 at the charity stripe. Warden also nearly completed a double-double with nine rebounds.

Kobiske was next in line with 17 points and was perfect at free throw percentage, hitting 13-of-13, and would also haul in seven rebounds.

Holli Lindley would complete a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in the contest. She hit 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-4 beyond the arc.

Ashton Hackler and
Eryn Dolan each scored seven points on the day, with Dolan posting team highs with four assists and three steals.

SE got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 10-2 lead by the 6:37 mark of the first quarter.

That momentum would slow however, and a 15-7 run by the Bulldogs would even the contest at 17-17 before a Dolan buzzer beater to end the first gave the Storm a 19-17 lead at the break.

SWOSU would take its first lead early in the second and an 8-2 run to open the frame would give the visitors a 25-21 lead by the 8:35 mark of the frame.

Southeastern would rally and take the lead on a Kobiske hook shot, but the Bulldogs would again push their advantage out to four points.

The Storm would rally to tie the game, and once more SWOSU would edge back to a four-point lead before SE closed the half by cutting the deficit to 36-34 at the break.

SE was cold from the field throughout the third quarter but kept pace at the free throw line where is hit 10-of-12 over the period to stay within striking distance, trailing 55-51 after three quarters.

The Storm scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to tie the game and would tie it once more before finally regaining the lead on a Lindley bucket with 4:21 to play.

SWOSU would tie the game once more, but a Warden bucket would break that tie with 3:29 to play and SE would never trail again as Kobiske went 4-for-4 at the free throw line in the final 14 seconds to preserve the 68-64 victory.
