BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern opened play at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic with a 5-4 victory over William Jewel before finishing day one with a 5-2 loss to Washburn on Friday in Bentonville, Ark.

The split moved the Savage Storm to 2-4 on the season with a pair of games on Saturday, first facing Drury at 11 a.m. before closing the weekend versus Central Missouri at 1:30 p.m.

Sage Harlow,
India McMurray, and
Sammi Dutton collected a pair of hits each, while
Kamryn Rackley,
Abby Beck,
Kasey Simmons, and
Bailey Beard added one apiece.

Dutton would drive in a pair of runs with Harlow, Beck, and McMurray driving in one apiece.

Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and picked up the win in her second complete game outing, tossing 7.0 innings and allowing four runs on nine hits with seven strikeouts.

SE would jump out in front with a Beck RBI single in the first followed by RBI singles in the second by Dutton and Harlow to push the lead to 3-0.

A two-run homer in the third and another RBI groundout in the fourth would knot the score at 3-3.

A McMurray solo homer to lead off the sixth followed by an RBI double by Dutton would put SE in front 5-3.

WJC would get a run in the topo of the seventh, but the Storm would hold on for the 5-4 win.

In game two,
Gracie Ore posted a 3-for-4 outing with an RBI and two runs scored, with Rackley adding two hits.

Sabetha Sands, Harlow, and
Kady Fryrear each added a hit.

Harlow would add the team's other RBI.

Reese Taylor got the start and tossed 3.2 innings in the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

Emily Simmons would toss the final 3.1 innings without allowing a run or a hit while striking out seven.

SE would bookend scoring in the game, take a lead in the third inning on a Harlow RBI double.

WU would put up five runs in the fourth inning before Ore would homer in the seventh to make the final 5-2.
