DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opened its series with Oklahoma Baptist on Sunday with a pair of losses, dropping the opener 14-2 before falling in the nightcap 7-1 at Mike Metheny Field.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 6-14 on the season with the series finale set for 1 p.m. on Monday back at Mike Metheny Field.

In game one,
Cache Stone would collect a pair of hits, while
Jake Miller,
Yanluis Ortiz, and
Austin Thorp added a hit each.
Â
Ortiz would homer and drive in a pair of runs.
Â
Cameron Hauch got the start and tossed 4.0 innings in the loss, allowing eight runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts.

Ben Holbert was tagged for two runs in an inning of work with
Corbin Lingo following with four runs allowed on four hits in an inning pitched.

Parker Pecina closed out the game with a scoreless inning of work.

OBU would score in each of the first four innings, mounting an 8-0 lead before Ortiz connected on a two-run homer to close the gap to 8-2.

The Bison would tack on six more runs to make the final 14-2.

Damon Burroughs and
Matt Miles had two hits apiece, while Thorp and
Kyler Copeland added a hit each.

Stone would collect SE's lone RBI.

Jackson Sioson got the start and took the loss after tossing six innings and allowing five runs, four earned, on nine hits with four strikeouts.

Jared Barta would come in and allow two runs, one earned, on three hits without recording an out before
Coby Langford followed to get out of the inning.

Stone would drive in a run in the first inning to put SE in front 1-0 in the first inning.

OBU would score the next seven runs in the contest unanswered to take the contest 7-1.

SE would collect a triple-play in the sixth inning as
Coby Grimsley would rob a homer at the wall before doubling up the runner advancing from first tow second, and the third out would be recorded on appeal for the runner leaving second base early.
