Softball Closes Out Series With Pair of Losses

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Kady Fryrear collected five hits over two games to lead Southeastern, but it was not enough to lift the Savage Storm is they dropped both ends of a Sunday doubleheader versus Oklahoma Baptist, falling 9-3 and 3-2 in eight innings in Shawnee, Okla.
 
The losses drop SE to 9-13 overall on the season and 3-6 in Great American Conference play.
 
Fryrear posted a 4-for-4 performance in game one, including a home run and a pair of RBI.
 
Gracie Ore added a home run, while Kasey Simmons, Channing Sarver, Kennedy Morgan, and Kamryn Rackley each added a hit.
 
Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and suffered the loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits with one strikeout over 5.0 innings of work.
 
Alyson Malone would record an inning and allowed two runs on a hit with one strikeout.
 
OBU would take a lead in the bottom of the second inning, but Fryrear would lay down an RBI bunt single in the top of the third to score Rackley and tie the score at 1-1.
 
The Bison would take the lead in the third with a grand slam, but SE would answer with solo homers by Ore and Fryrear in the top of the fifth to close the gap to 5-3.
 
OBU would follow with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to make the final 9-3.
 
In the series finale, Sage Harlow and Reese Taylor would each pick up a pair of hits, while Ore and Fryrear added one apiece.
 
Taylor would homer and Sabetha Sands would add an RBI.
 
Taylor would also toss a complete game in the loss, allowing three runs, only one earned, on 10 hits over 7.1 innings pitched with six strikeouts.
 
Taylor would put the Storm on the board with a solo homer in the second and a Sands sac fly in the fourth would push the Storm lead to 2-0.
 
The Bison would get a solo homer in the sixth and score on an error in the seventh to tie the game before collecting a walk off hit in the bottom fo the eighth to fashion the 3-2 final.
