Cache Stone drove in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning to help Southeastern salvage a split in Saturday afternoon's doubleheader versus Henderson State, picking up a 3-2 win in the finale after falling 13-5 in game one in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 9-16 overall and 2-13 in Great American Conference play.

Cory Bonstrom two-run triple would put the Storm on the board in the top of the second inning with a 2-0 lead.

HSU would knot the game at 2-2 after back-to-back RBI hit-by-pitches in the fourth. Â

Stone would then connect on a sac fly in the fifth inning to put SE in front 3-2 which would hold up as the final score.

Bontrom finished the contest with a pair of hits and a pair of RBI, while
Austin Thorp, Stone,
Jake Miller, and
Kyler Copeland each had a hit.

Stone recorded the team's third RBI.

Jackson Sioson would get the start and collect the win after tossing a complete game and allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts over seven innings of work.

In game one, the Storm would strand 13 runners despite
Cameron Cromer,
Cache Stone,
Coby Grimsley,
Jake Miller, and
John David Muse each picking up two hits.

Cory Bonstrom and
Austin Thorp each added a hit.

Stone would drive in a team-best three runs with Grimsley adding one RBI.

Cameron Hauch got the start and took the loss after starting and tossing 4.2 innings, allowing eight runs, five earned with two strikeouts.

Charlie Deeds followed with 1.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits with
Brody Logsdon tossing the final 1.2 innings and allowing three runs on two hits.

HSU would take a 4-0 lead with four runs in the bottom of the second, but the Storm would answer, cutting the deficit in half on a two-run single by Stone in the third.

Stone would get the offense moving with an RBI double in the fifth, followed by an RBI double from Grimsley and a run-scoring ball in play from
Matt Miles, giving the Storm a 5-4 lead.

The Reddies would collect four runs in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead and tack on a run in the sixth, another in the seventh and three more in he eighth to make the final 13-5
