DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern connected on three home runs but it was not enough to keep pace in a series-opening loss to Ouachita Baptist, 16-4, on Friday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 9-18 overall on the season and 2-14 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the series et for a Saturday afternoon doubleheader at 1 p.m.

Cameron Cromer collected a pair of hits to pace the Storm offense.

Reid Rice,
Coby Grimsley, and
Matt Miles each homered, while
Austin Thorp,
Dylan Herd,
Cache Stone, and
Kyler Copeland each added hits.

Rice, Grimsley, and Mile each picked up RBI on their solo homers, while Stone added an RBI.

Jaden Lewis got the start on the hill and took the loss after tossing three innings and allowing seven runs on five hits.

Dylan Turner followed with four runs on five hits with two strikeouts over three innings before handing the ball to
Parker Pecina who allowed five runs on three hits with two strikeouts.

After scoring a run in the second, OBU would homer three times over the third and fourth innings to mount a 9-0 lead.

Grimsley would connect on a solo homer in the fourth to cut into the deficit.

The Tigers would hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth, and solo shots from Rice and Miles in the bottom half would close the gap to 11-3.

Cache Stone would single home Thorp in the seventh to close to 11-4, but back-to-back homers, the first a grand slam, would push the final tally to 16-4.
