DURANT, Okla. – Weather forced a doubleheader to be shortened to one game on Tuesday afternoon, a game which Southeastern would drop by a 1-0 score to Northeastern State at the Southeastern Softball Field.
Â
The loss would drop the Savage Storm to 9-10 overall to the season, and with the cancelation of game two they will now look ahead to a three-game road conference series against Oklahoma Baptist on March 8-9.
Â
Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and tossed a complete game, allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts, but was still stuck with the loss.
Â
Gracie Ore and
Sage Harlow each collected a hit, while Ore drew a walk.
Â
The Storm would move a runner to third in the bottom of the first without scoring, and it was NSU who would get on the board first, doing so in the top of the fifth on a sac fly to take a 1-0 lead.
Â
The Storm would get a runner to third in the bottom half of the fifth as well but would hit into a double play to end the inning.
Â
SE would get a runner to second in the sixth, but that was the last threat as they would fall by the score of 1-0.
