Softball Drops Series Opener at OBU

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Southeastern was never able to get the offense moving as it found itself on the wrong end of a 7-0 loss on Saturday afternoon in the series opener versus Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Okla.
 
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 9-11 overall on the season and 3-4 in Great American Conference play with the final two games of the doubleheader set for Sunday afternoon,
 
Bailey Beard would collect the only hit for SE on the day, breaking up the no-hitter in the top of the sixth inning.
 
Reese Taylor got the start and took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits with one strikeout in 3.1 innings pitched.
 
Emily Simmons followed with 2.2 innings of work, allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits.
 
The Bison would put up two runs in the second, fourth, and fifth innings, and tacked on a solo homer in the sixth to extend its lead to 7-0.
