Storm Stumble in Saturday Doubleheader at HU

SEARCY, Ark. – Southeastern would give up late runs in both end of its doubleheader, falling in game one to Harding, 7-3, and dropping the nightcap, 5-3, on Saturday afternoon in Searcy, Ark.
 
The losses drop the Savage Storm to 12-28 overall on the year and 5-22 in Great American Conference play.
 
Wesley Mitchell collected a pair of hits in game one, while Cameron Cromer, Nick Hill, Cache Stone, and Dylan Herd each added a hit.
 
Brady Evans, Cromer, and Stone would each drive in a run.
 
Dylan Turner got the start and tossed 2.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits in 2.1 innings while striking out two.
 
Hayden Alexander followed with an inning of work, allowing one unearned run while walking three.
 
Charlie Deeds would toss the next two innings and take the loss, allowing three runs on two hits.
 
Jared Barta tossed the final 2.2 innings and allowed a run on two hits.
 
Haring would take an early lead with a run in the first and another in the third.
 
SE would respond with a Stone RBI single in the fourth to cut the deficit to 2-1.
 
The Bisons would tack on a run in the bottom of the fourth, but the Storm would answer with a sac fly from Evans and an RBI single from Cromer to tie the game at 3-3.
 
However, HU would pick up three runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to puh its lead to 7-3 which would hold up as the final.
 
In the finale, Mitchell would add two more hits, while Cromer, Jake Miller, Cory Bonstrom, and Evans each picked up a hit.
 
Miller would drive in a pair of runs, while Bonstrom added an RBI.
 
Jackson Sioson got the start and took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts across 5.1 innings.
 
Brody Logsdon tossed two-thirds of an inning and was tagged for a run on two hits.
 
Miller would give SE the first lead of the contest on a two-run double in the fourth followed by an RBI single from Bonstrom to take a 3-0 lead.
 
The Bisons would respond int eh sixth with five runs to take a 5-3 lead which would be the final.
